Reviews
Well informed and very educative. Farm is huge and well laid out. Tractor ride and pick up is nice and time efficient. Houses and artifacts are well represented. Interpreters are knowledgeable and welcoming.
A bit pricey or worth what you paid for.
Be prepared for a lot of walking.
Welcome to bring your own food and have a picnic.
Kids friendly. Seen a lot of school kids taking tours in groups.
Highly recommended!
Great place to learn but some of the buildings are I need of some significant repairs. Still worth a trip. Plan to spend the day. They do not serve food so come with a lunch or plan to eat at the Machine Shed. The food is ok but expensive.
This review is in regards to the Halloween event. First off, for having sponsors for this event, it seemed as if $20 was thrown into the whole thing. Tickets should have been no more than $5 for what it was. They definitely need more …
As members of Harvest Hosts, we were able to spend the night in our RV in their parking lot. This was super nice. Very clean and well kept. The museum wasn't open when we were there, but the outdoor part was. It's a great place to take a walk or hike. Beautiful and quiet with some wildlife.
It is an amazing place to go with or without kids. The people/employees in the town at different places/buildings were great in character and answered my numerous questions
Living History Farms was a nice place to visit on our way out West. The ride in the wagon to the farm is a bit rough and dusty, but once we we’re up there it was nice to see how farming had evolved over the millennia. We did visit some of …
Really not that much there for the price. Long ride in a horse trailer than head been converted into a people mover. Really rough ride. Was super hot today so that didn't help. Been around to a lot of historical sites and for the price... This one just didn't
A wonderful interactive museum/recreational park with a full sized town with various different shops with reenactment actors portraying 19th and 20th century Iowans. My wife and I loved it, great for families on a beautiful day. We learned so much about early Iowa history and what it was like on the plains.
We love Living History Farms. It was on our "must go to" list when we traveled back to Iowa to see family for vacation. Great docents in period costume. Great place to enjoy lunch too - great salads, nachos and cheese, plus more. One of our favorite places with great memories. Great place to volunteer, too. Lots of special events.
Nice diversion today. Nice walk through farming history and a little something for everyone. We did not stay for the Oldies Ballgame but watched a bit. Easy walk and fun tractor ride back in time. Little ones will have fun but …
